Greystone Investigations & Legal Services was established in 2002 by Les Clement, following his retirement from South Wales Police after a distinguished career in operational policing. During his service, he received multiple commendations and a certificate for exemplary conduct, and also served in Central Services and at New Scotland Yard.

Greystone combines traditional investigative discipline with modern evidential standards. Our work is rooted in careful fact-finding, structured witness handling, and legally robust reporting capable of withstanding scrutiny in both civil and criminal proceedings.

We understand the pressures faced by solicitors, counsel, insurers, and in-house legal teams. Instructions are handled with professionalism and discretion, with a clear focus on delivering timely, objective evidence to support informed decision-making.

All work is carried out in accordance with a strict professional code of conduct, in full compliance with data protection requirements, and is supported by appropriate professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

Following a successful Police career spanning 30 years in operational policing, which included a secondment to New Scotland Yard in London, I retired in the rank of Chief Inspector.

During my time in service I was commended on several occasions for my work by the Chief Constable, a Crown Court Judge as well as local Magistrates.

Following my retirement from the force I established Greystone Investigations and as a private investigator have conducted many investigations in support of criminal defence matters. These include murder on four separate occasions, abduction (kidnapping), assault (GBH and ABH), rape and indecent assault.

I have conducted many investigations in respect of fraudulent insurance claims and matters of liability, and have personally taken in excess of 10,000 statements.
